Kansas City has many beautiful outdoor public sculptures that complement our City of Fountains. The quiet tree-lined streets of our neighborhoods and our nationally recognized boulevards showcase hundreds of magnificent and unique works of art. Many were donated by our citizens, others were purchased by developers, and some were added by the city for the enjoyment of all. In 1994, local volunteers working with the national Save Outdoor Scultpure! project catalogued more than 200 public fountains, monuments and sculptures in the greater Kansas City area.
