The sculpture is on an elevated base and is made up of stacked polymer material forms that are all 2″ thick. The elements are tightfitting at the base, however, as the form rises, it twists (overall about 40 degrees) and gaps form between the plastic elements. The object also transitions from being circular at the base to being very angular at the top.

“Transformed Flower” is a beautiful combination of art and architecture by Phillip K Smith III of the Indiobased design studio The Art Office. The artwork, which was installed in May 2008, looks colorful and interesting as the sculpture rises from a circle at the base to an eight-pointed star at the top.
