    Covering more than 80 acres of beautiful rolling hills in Kansas City North’s Hodge Park, the Shoal Creek Living History Museum dedicates itself to bringing the 19th century Missouri to life through special events, programs, tours and reenactments. Offering year-around peaceful wooded walking trails, a pioneer village re-creation, interesting civil war era buildings, architecture and a nice atmosphere for a picnic in a country setting, Shoal Creek Living History Museum provides a great, quiet get away.  The facility is open from dawn to dusk, free of charge for self-guided walking tours, maps are located at ticket booth, flag pole kiosk and front porch of mercantile.  Admission is charged during special events.     Call or email to become a volunteer, 816-792-2655 and be a part of actual living history events or work behind the scenes with gardening, light maintenance and office work!  When volunteering at Shoal Creek Living History Museum, your contributing to historical preservation and educating our visitors about 19th century living.

    Photo/Film Permits
    A permit is required for still and video commercial shoots and professional photographers who are conducting business on public property via photo shoots. If the photos are for a permitted event in the park, no additional Photo/Film permit is required. Please respect the park, buildings, and its artifacts.  Do not move or reposition belongings.

    Photo/Film Permits: Annual
    Shoal Creek Association has partnered with KC Parks to allow your business unlimited family or portrait shoots with proceeds going to the museum. The Annual Usage Pass is $100 and valid for one full year from purchase date and must be visible while on the property.

    Mail the following information to Shoal Creek Association, 7000 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, MO  64156. Include Business Name, Address, Contact Person, Phone Number, Email, Vehicle make/model, and License plate number with $100 check (payable to SCA) and a self-addressed stamped envelope.  To schedule an appointment to make your payment, please call 816-792-2655.

    Photo/Film Permits: One-Time (use form below)
    Permit fees for family or portrait shoots at SCLHM are $25/hour. Larger commercial shoot permit fees vary and insurance may be required. A permit will be issued upon review, confirmation of availability and completion of payment. Please complete the form below. A minimum of five (5) business days is required to process a photo shoot permit request.
